Lawson's escapades!

I love to play in the toilet paper.....

I love to crawl off my changing table......

I love to play with my toys but only for a minute....there are so many other things that need my attention, like the toilet.  It gets so lonely if I don't play in it at least three times a day.  My mommy has learned that she has to pick her battles and keeping me out of the toilet is just not one of them.

My favorite new game is to eat dog food.  Unfortunately there is no piicture of this due to the severe nature of mom getting the food directly out of my mouth.

And I thought that your first child was supposed to be easy.

But the coolest thing that I can do all day is climb and in between everyone's legs!

A cold beer on a Friday night......

I really love summer!  Mostly because I am off all summer but really there are all kinds of goodness about summer.  There is watermelon which I never buy because it is so messy to cut up (and you all know me I hate a mess).  There are snocones mmmmm, the pool, cookouts, cute dresses and my favorite:  COLD BEER!  Beer is just so much better in the summer.  Now they have my favorite beer (michelob ultra) with lime infused.  So yummy!  Lawson and I have been having so much fun this summer and trust me after a day with Lawson the beer really comes in handy!

Not enough time!

I haven't blogged in what I feel like is forever!  I mean let's face it, I am not exactly Ms. Blogger.  I really do try to find time, but all in all there just aren't enough hours in the day.  Some of my friends (you know who you are) are great at this.  I am not!  Well to be honest, being busy is sometimes good.  Unfortunately our busy hasn't been so good lately.  As some of you may know Nick's dad was diagnosed with leukemia about 7 and a half years ago.  He has luckily been in remission for the past years.  About 3 weeks ago we found out the medicine that was keeping the leukemia at bay has quit working.  So needless to say it has been a pretty devastating past couple of weeks for us.  He is in the hospital getting transfusions and chemo as we speak.  He has a fighting spirit and anyone who knows Bill knows that he is a fighter.  He will have to undergo a bone marrow transplant in the coming months.  We need all the prayers that we can get right now as faith in God is about all that we have right now.  Luckily we have Lawson.  He is keeping everyone's spirits up including his Papa.  And speaking of my little monster, he is getting way too big.  He had his first haircut on the 15th.  Here are a couple of pics.  We took him to Miss Deidre, Nick's hair lady.  Nick won't go to anyone else and when you see her in these pics you will see why.

As you can see Deidre gives him a dum dum to make him behave!
Don't tell Dr. Kuhl's.  We would get in big trouble!

So proud of the end result! This kid cracks me up!

I never posted any Easter pics.  Here are a few from Easter!
He is lookin pretty cute!

Hope that everyone is having a great spring!  We are hoping to be in our house within the next 4 weeks!  Can't wait to start planting flowers!

Til the next time (and don't hold your breath)!

Welcome to the Jungle!

So we went to the zoo today....along with every other kid in OKC!  It was a fun time though with his friends Livi, Londyn and Ethan.  Of course we could have taken them to the park and they wouldn't have known the difference.  I also decided that the zoo runs a close second to the state fair.  Here are a few pics that chronicle our adventure.

Here we are stroller derby!

Got my hat on ready to roll...I mean how cute is that!

Finally in the zoo!  Moms and the kids.  Thanks Allen for all the help!

Hey Mom, these keys are way cooler than anything here!

And we got a little fussy so we tried this!  Man was he heavy.  Definately got my workout for the day.

We've had enough!  So sleepy after all the sights!

Good time with good friends!  Gotta love it!

6 months old

Ok So this post is a little tardy!  I have been a deliquent blocker lately, but hey I have been busy!  Lawson is actually almost 7 months old!  We took him to the doctor for his check up.  He weighed 18 lbs and was 27 inches!  Big boy!  He loves to play on his pallet these days.  He is also obsessed with the TV cabinet and has a few boo boo's to prove it.  He has also started to play in his walker.  He is army crawling like crazy everywhere!  Safety plugs here we come.  Here are a few pics of the little mobile man.

Are you kidding me with this?? I need more obstacles please!

Hello my friends!  I have been a little absent from the blog!  Some of you may know that Lawson had a minor procedure done last week.  They didn't circumsize him when he was born because they thought his urethra might be a little large, but after going to the doctor we learned that everything was perfectly normal and we could proceed as usual.  The only problem is that now that he is 5 months they had to put him under general anesthesia.  It was not fun for mommy and daddy.  He is doing great though and being at children's made me feel really blessed to have a healthy baby.  But that is not the purpose of this post.  Just wanted to give you an update.  The real reason for this post:  OK so as many of you know I like to workout.  Well, like is a strong word, how about I like how working out makes me look.  Noone really likes to workout.  They might like the results and the feeling when they are done, but don't let them lie to you, they don't like to workout.  Not even you Christen! (just kidding).  So anyway, I started P90X last week.  I am on week 2.  It's hard but doable....so I thought.  When I get home from school I usually put Lawson in his exersaucer and away we go...Lawson doing his "workout" and me doing mine which he thinks is hilarious.  But today he didn't cooperate.  Here is a little summary of my attempt to workout.

P90 here I come ( I too will look like this soon hehe)

First 10 minutes Mommy doing good Lawson doing good, then the crying so I thought OK I will let him out and roll around.  That will work:

As you can see I have so much space.  The rent house living room oh so spacious.... That's ok Lawson take all the room you need I will just move over here:

Oh nevermind, that's your pallet.  God forbid you stay there for more than 30 seconds.  I will just move again.

Oh that's right the exersaucer is there, a little to the left then.....

But I would hate to disturb you and the dog.  I freakin give up!  But I guess this face is worth it!  I did get the workout in somehow but the space below where Lawson and Stoops are was the space I had to do it in.  Really???  Mr. Builder please hurry, my sanity and the size of my butt are depending on you....
BTW Lawson has found a new friend!  Not sure if Stoops is so excited about it....

Til next time....(when I will be ripped due to P90X right?)

Who dat! Who dat!

So the Saint won!  Boo!  I didn't want them to win.  I like Drew Brees but hate New Orleans.  Reminds me of OU's loss to the LSU Tigers and those people were awful.  I still have nightmares and hear, "Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait".  That was a bad deal.  Besides I really don't care if my boy Brady isn't playing.  God knows he is the most beautiful man in the NFL.  Too bad he has the most beautiful girlfriend in the world!  Anyway, went to the Foster's for the game.  With all the kids I sorta forgot to watch which is not like me!  I think that kids has fun though!

Ethan doin a little table dance for some beads!!!!  (You know the Saints, mardi gras get it?)

Lawson and the women.  Help dad Help!

The gang's all here!  Except for Ash!  We miss you Ash!

Goin to the Chapel....

So here is the little man all ready for church!  Nick and I have really been wanting to go back to church.  The thing is that our church doesn't take kids in the nursery until they get a little older.  We went a couple of weeks ago and I prayed (literally) the whole time that he would behave.  He did great!  Not so much this Sunday though.  He made it through the first prayer and then he started "talking".  Nick took him out and never came back.  The whole sermon I kept looking for them but no sign.  Finally during offering Nick came in and said "let's go" with spit up all down his arm.  What's up with that Lawson?  I even prayed that he would do good!  Talk about unanswered prayers!  Maybe next week.....

He really did look handsome though...note the shoes!

Snow Days!

So with all of the snow we've had that has meant a lot of cramped rent house time for the Clements' family. Good thing that Lawson likes all of his toys. Here are a few pics of him in his toys. By the way I left him alone for 2 minutes in the living room today and came back in and he was in the TV cabinet chewing on my P90X videos. He was really saying, "Hey mom you really need to do your workout videos!"

Lovin my Swing!

This is how I roll!

Love to be naked!

Holy Crap mom! Is it ever gonna quit snowing???

OK Mom and Dad 3 days straight in the house with you and you've
driven me to drink!  LOL

The house

As some of you know Nick and I have taken on the task of building a new house. We didn't have enough going on with the joys and challenges of a new baby so we wanted to add something to it. You know us, we like to keep things interesting! Here are a couple of photos of the house in the process. I feel like it will be forever before we move in and I have a breakdown weekly about how much I hate the rent house!

Here is our sign... the only thing that keeps me going LOL

Here's the slab...

Now the framing...

Add roof and Windows and we're coming along...
